See It, Track It, Slice it:
Advanced Approaches in Small Animal Imaging using DEXA & Cryostat Sectioning

Micro Photonics’ Senior Applications Engineer, Raj Manoharan, gave a presentation to small animal researchers at the  American Association for Laboratory Animal Science (AALAS) national meeting. researchers to explore two cutting-edge techniques that transform preclinical studies: Dual Energy X-Ray Absorptiometry (DEXA) and Cryostat Sectioning. With our DEXA InAlyzer2 system, you can now scan multiple animals at once and track them over time with precision, revealing dynamic changes in bone density, lean tissue, and fat—non-invasively, at multiple life stages. At a study’s conclusion, cryostat sectioning provides ultra-thin, whole-animal slices for unparalleled microscopic analysis. Together, these tools let researchers capture every data point, tell the full story, and push the boundaries of discovery.

Scan 6 mice in 28 seconds with the InAlyzer2 DEXA system and the Somni Scientific Custom Manifold

Micro Photonics has partnered with Somni Scientific to create a unique manifold (one, three, or six-way mouse anesthesia splitter) as an accessory to the InAlyzer2 DEXA instrument. Our goal at Micro Photonics is always seeking to support our customers in their research. We worked with Somni Scientific to develop manifolds to help our DEXA users save time and improve clinical accuracy and reproducibility.
