DEXA InAlyzer2, Model M

The InAlyzer DEXA scan can analyze bone mineral density (BMD) and body composition (BMC, FAT, LEAN) of live lab animals in units of 0.001gm with simple anesthesia and without dissection. Serial assessment is possible for each live lab animal, saving animals and cost. Radiation exposure of researchers is blocked with internal protection, making the InAlyzer safe, effective, and accurate for use in the preclinical research phase.

  • Optional model: For mid-sized laboratory animals such as rabbits and guinea pigs
  • Save time, cost, and animals
  • Automated, accurate, and precise measurement
  • High resolution images

Features

Longitudinal studies

Data may be gathered for the same subjects repeatedly over a study period with minimal harm to the animal subjects, using simple anesthesia and no dissection.Changes during longitudinal studies can be traced by follow-up examinations during the period required for study by adding test factors, such as pharmaceutical, genetic, or dietary interventions.

High resolution images

The high-resolution images of 5.0 lp/mm enable structural analysis and provide various views, such as bone and body composition images, for easy analysis. A function to analyze the trend of each study and apply the trend graph is provided.

Compact size & safety

The main unit is a compact desktop instrument. Internal lead shielding provides a safe working environment, allowing continuous use of the instrument with minimal downtime.

Easy reporting

Users can easily create reports as well as organize and edit results by storing data and images as .CSV and/or .TIFF files, respectively.

Monitoring camera

The built-in, real-time optical camera allows users to observe any movement inside the instrument chamber when the lead-shielded door is closed.

Access point for anesthesia

Anesthesia is used in many animal studies to immobilize animals while imaging. The InAlyzer2 is designed with an access point on the left side to allow continuous anesthetic gas flow and ensure complete animal immobility during imaging.

Selectable scan time

The InAlyzer2 provides bone mineral density and body composition results for total body imaging in as little as 28 seconds. For live animals, we suggest an 84-second scan be done to adjust for the effects of movement due to respiration. Fast imaging gives users quick access to critical data and is safer for live animals.

Comparison to Lunar PIXImus

The DEXA InAlyzer offers a well-tested technology for the measurement of bone mineral density and body composition in laboratory animals. The InAlyzer DEXA systems are as much as five times faster than the PIXImus, and the InAlyzer provides greater precision. A key InAlyzer benefit is the option to handle lab animals as large as 3000 grams, while the PIXImus is limited to 50 grams.
