SkyScan 1275
The desktop SkyScan 1275 is a real 3D X-ray microscopy power pack, designed for fast scanning of a wide range of samples without compromising image quality. Thanks to the compact geometry and fast flat-panel detector, the time from scan to result can be as short as a few minutes.
Fast micro-CT scanning with high quality results is crucial for scientific research and industrial applications such as quality control, production process monitoring, and large sample sets. The SkyScan 1275 micro-CT provides a high level of automation–a simple push of the button on the front of the system starts an auto-sequence of a fast scan followed by reconstruction and volume rendering executed during scanning of the next sample. This system is great for routine samples!
Features
DESKTOP
The SkyScan 1275 Ultrafast Desktop Micro-CT was designed as a small foot-print but powerful X-ray computed tomography instrument. The system can sit comfortably on a sturdy lab bench and requires no other infrastructure other than a standard 110V wall outlet.
FAST SCANNING
The SkyScan 1275 uses a fast acquisition detector that allows scans to be performed in a matter of minutes. This makes it ideal for larger studies like phenotyping where mouse femurs can be scanned in as little as three minutes, or in quality control environments requiring statistically significant amounts of test samples.
AUTOMATED SAMPLE CHANGER
The optional automatic sample changer can handle up to 16 samples with different sizes. The samples are automatically loaded in the scanner and scanned one-by-one without the presence of an operator. Scanned samples are clearly indicated by illuminated marks and can be removed or replaced any time, even during live scanning. The samples can be scanned using identical or individually selected protocols. The scanning results can be distributed with different names to incrementally indexed subfolders.
HELICAL SCAN MODE
In addition to the standard circular scan mode, helical scanning and reconstruction can be selected to optimize image acquisition and minimize reconstruction artifacts on metal objects like implants and other manufactured parts.

IN SITU STAGES
Each system comes pre-wired to accept specially designed in-situ stages for dynamic testing. The Materials Testing Stage (MTS) allows for in situ compression or tension testing of materials. Heating and Cooling Stages are ideal for material characterization for thermal effects.
SOFTWARE
The SkyScan 3D Software Suite is supplied as an unlimited site license so each user can have a copy; ensuring workflow from multiple groups is easily managed. Segmented software programs means post acquisition reconstruction, analysis, and modeling can be done on different computers, freeing the system for scanning. Image file outputs are standardized to TIF, BMP, or JPG formats for easy viewing, transferring, or copying.
