Tribotouch for Surface Wear Testing
The Tribotouch is the technology leader in hand abrasion simulation, reproducing the complex chemical and mechanical abrasion caused by the human hand on finished surfaces, printing, and labels.
- Tribotouch provides an accurate method to reproduce hand abrasion and wear on a variety of surfaces
- A “true” high dynamic linear motor with precise motion control is used for the movement of the piston (artificial finger)
- Used for many industries, including automotive, bank cards and security, watches and jewelry, household appliances, and medicine and pharmaceuticals.

Surface wear testing of a keyboard
Telephones; music systems; control panels; touchscreens; keyboards, and more are subject to hand abrasion of markings and lettering that are critical to a product’s functionality as well as to a user’s perception of quality.

Bank card abrasion
The printing on the embossed numbers on credit cards rubs off quickly. The Tribotouch is an ideal instrument to simulate the wear and abrasion caused by the human hand in combination with different chemicals like sweat, sun cream, or hand sanitizer.

Automotive and other transport interiors
The transportation industry — automotive, aviation, railways, shipping, and construction vehicles — all rely on printed and embossed surfaces that can wear with use.

Pharmaceutical packaging and labels
Packaging and labeling in the pharmaceutical and medical industries is critical for safety.
