Hemispherical Analyzers
Class Hemispherical Analyzer The VSW CLASS range of hemispherical analyzers provide versatility and performance for the ion and electron spectroscopy in surface science. The CLASS analyzers are available in 100 mm and 150 mm mean radius and are easily fitted to most existing UHV systems. Optics are available for variable magnification and small spot imaging and the analyzers can be fitted with single or multi channel detectors to suit your application.
The ClASS analyzers are based on precision engineered double focusing and fully mu- metal screened hemispheres of 50mm, 100 mm or 150 mm mean radius.
There are two basic series of CLASS analyzers, the CLASS VM for small area analysis/high angular resolution and the CLASS WA range for applications requiring high angular acceptance and maximum throughput.

VSW/Micro Photonics provide a range of upgrades for detectors, optics and electronics for users of the HA series of analyzers.

  • True focusing 180 degree geometry.
  • All UHV compatible construction.
  • Automatic fringe field correction using molybdenum electrodes.
  • Guaranteed non magnetic construction using aluminum and OFHC copper.
  • Graphite coated hemispheres for even work function throughout.
  • Magnetic shielding by interlocking mu-metal screens on analyzer and lens.
  • Slot in outer hemisphere for accurate through the lens alignment and beam dump for high energy electrons.

Twin Anode X-ray Source

UV Light Source

UV Light SourceThe UV10 is a differentially pumped photon source for Ultra violet Photoelectron Spectroscopy. It is 70mm OD flange mounting with easily replaced plug in collimating capillary.

Electron Gun

5 Kv Electron GunThe EG5 is a versatile electron source for AES, sample imaging and charge neutralization. An extremely large range of working distances can be accommodated and the beam may be rastered using an optional TV rate scan unit.

X Ray Monochromator
X ray monochromator The MON10 is an X ray monochromator with a multiple crystal design for
high X ray flux at the narrowest line widths for XPS.
